Wood-Mode Pushes the Aesthetic of Wood Beyond the Status Quo

In its long history, Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry has often set new expectations for what designers and homeowners can expect from cabinetry design. From a superior level of quality to the most industry leading product developments, Wood-Mode is known for its high dedication to innovative technique and manufacturing. Its latest introduction asks the question: how can we push the look of wood beyond the expected aesthetic? A new palette of matte finishes explores the look of wood as if it were shaped, transformed, and influenced by natural surroundings or elements but then amplified in a way that cannot normally be achieved organically. These new wood finishes include:
MATTE FOSSIL WOOD – With a subtle brown finish that gives way to lightly patterned grays, the look of fossilization is captured in Matte Fossil Wood. This appearance is only achieved by using tightly grained cherry or maple which is then finished with a matte sheen to soften the overall patina and protect all finish applications.
MATTE BOARDWALK – This finish depicts the aged look of boardwalk wood after many years of salt spray and sun. The resulting color is heightened to bring in tones of grayish blue. Available in cherry, plain sawn white oak, quarter sawn white oak and rift cut white oak.
MATTE OXIDE – Oxidation is the natural process that wood undergoes as it ages. Over time, exposure to oxygen and UV sunlight causes lumber to lighten or darken, depending on the wood species. In this new stain, Wood-Mode achieves the look of darkened, oxidized wood, which emphasizes the natural grain of cherry, plain sawn white oak, quarter sawn white oak or rift cut white oak.
MOJAVE SAND – Desert climate, including excessive sun, wind and sand erosion, are depicted in this new stain. With an ultimate smooth finish and light graining, Mojave Sand provides an unobtrusive, neutral backdrop to set off color, texture and bolder design elements. Available in cherry, maple, plain sawn white oak, quarter sawn white oak and rift cut white oak.
SPRING WHEAT – This finish depicts the variance of color and texture found in agricultural grain. Wood veining is emphasized by a sandblasting technique while the stain and matte sheen are layered to celebrate every grain shape and contour. Available in cherry, maple, plain sawn white oak, quarter sawn white oak and rift cut white oak.
